What is a Surgical First Assist (SFA)?

An SFA is a highly trained professional supporting surgeons during procedures. They assist with suturing, retracting tissues for better visibility, and ensuring efficient, effective surgeries, resulting in fewer complications.

What are the benefits of having an Assist?

Having an SFA can improve surgical outcomes, reducing complications by 30%, shortening surgery times by 20%, and increasing patient satisfaction by 25%.

Is Having an Assist Mandatory?

For surgeries using the Da Vinci Robotic system and many open surgeries, an Assist is crucial. They help with suturing, troubleshooting the robot, and maintaining workflow. Declining an Assist might affect your surgery’s success.

Deposit and Payment Information

Why a Deposit?

A deposit secures an Assist for your surgery. We bill your insurance, but the deposit ensures coverage. After reimbursement, you’ll receive any difference.

How do I make a Deposit?

To make a deposit, click the ‘Make a Payment’ link on our website. Options include PayPal, Venmo, Pay Later, and debit/credit card. You’ll receive a payment receipt via email. For questions, contact us.

Can I Make a Payment Plan?

We offer a payment plan through PayPal’s ‘Pay Later’ option, allowing four easy payments or monthly payments. Choose this plan on the payment page and fill out your payment information.

What are the Deposit Amounts?

Deposits vary by procedure length:

• Under 4 hours: $350

• 4 hours or more: $625

For Medicaid/Medicare:

• Under 4 hours: $300

• 4 hours or more: $325

What is the Cancellation and Refund Policy?

• Cancellation 14+ days before surgery: Full refund minus fees

• 7-14 days before surgery: 50% refund

• 48 hours to 7 days before surgery: 25% refund

• Less than 48 hours: No refund

How does Billing work?

After your procedure, we’ll send you a claim form for insurance. Submit it to your insurance provider for reimbursement. If covered, we’ll send you a check for the amount. If not, your deposit acts as a discounted fee.

What about HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices?

We safeguard patient information and payment details in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring all data is securely stored and transmitted. We have protocols for responding to data breaches, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
